I am an educated professional living in my home country on the Arabian Peninsula. I have a family and my own children are now adults. About five years ago I came to faith in Christ as a result of my interactions online with a believer from another Middle Eastern country.
I was sure that I was the only person in my country who had placed his faith in Christ, so I kept my faith a secret from my family and everyone around me.I stayed active online and often made posts and comments related to my faith, although I was careful never to expose my faith in Christ on the internet.
One day a woman from my country sent me a private message online, telling me how much she liked the things I was sharing publicly online.I decided to be open with her and I told her that I had come to faith in Christ and I asked her to keep it a secret. To my surprise, she told me that she had come to faith in Christ, too! She told me a little about her journey to faith in Christ, and then she asked me a question that surprised me even more.
“How would you like to attend meetings with other believers from our country, to study the Bible and pray with them and have fellowship with them?” she asked.
I was shocked.
“How can that be possible?” I asked.
“I know another believer there in your city,” she said. “There are many believers there who meet together to study and pray and fellowship together. If you are open to it, I can have this man contact you.”
“Yes, please!” I said. But I still couldn’t believe it.
Can you imagine how amazed I was when another man from my country about my age came to meet me face-to-face that same week? He’d been a believer for about 15 years and knew many other believers around the country.
I was astonished to discover that there is a growing community of men, women, and children who are following Christ in my country. I could never have imagined that I could have the opportunity to get baptized and study the Scriptures with other believers in my own dialect without ever leaving my country or my family.

Ask God to connect other isolated believers like me across the Arabian Peninsula to the growing, indigenous, Christ-centered communities in our home countries.
Pray that the television and internet ministries that have been so effective in their evangelism efforts across the Arabian Peninsula will encourage seekers and new believers like me to connect with the indigenous, Christ-centered communities right in our own citieswhere the opportunities for discipleship and leadership training already exists.
